Bandon has a great tradition of sport throughout the years and offers a fantastic choice of sports and recreation. Bandon Athletic Club founded in 1964 is the home of fitness and runs a thriving club in town – we look forward to the top of the range planned new venue coming soon. 

Community spirit abounds in Bandon and our community are proud of the massive community effort that went into development of our new inclusive playpark – having been without adequate play facilities for years this is a jewel in our crown for recreation activities.

Clare O’ Leary walk: Just half a mile from Bandon this walkway follows the path that the old railway line once followed. Named for intrepid local mountaineer – adventurous spirit can always be found in Bandon.

Dromkeen wood in nearby Innishannon is a magical walk for young and old – see how many fairy doors you can spot. And if you download wonderful you can see some woodland creatures up close with Wanderful. 

GAA clubs  in the area include Bandon GAA, Bandon Ladies Football and Bandon Camogie Club – based at Charlie Hurley park. 

Bandon Rugby Club has a strong tradition of excellence and recently celebrated its 125th year

Nearby Brinny Pitch & Putt is a superb course. 

Road Bowling is popular in surrounding areas.

Bandon A.F.C. (soccer) recently celebrated over 50 years as a club.  always welcomes new club members.

Bandon Golf Club is a testing parkland course in beautiful sylvan setting with natural hazards abounding

Bandon Lawn Tennis established in the early 1920’s.

Bandon Hill Walking Club organises many weekend activities. 

Capoeira, Karate and Tae Kwando all have thriving clubs.
