Bandon's Markets

Bandon has three thriving markets for you to visit.

There is an abundance of quality food on our doorstep. Traditionally known as the gateway to West Cork, Bandon offers so much more for those who wander its’ streets and remains an unspoiled gem offering much to delight the senses.
Not just a Mecca for shopping, Bandon is also a business hub with some well-known national and international companies based here. Bandon is also well known for its excellent eateries.
Three traditional markets still service the town alongside more modern fare. There are two authentic food markets, the indoor country market operating for 40 years which is open on Friday and Saturday mornings (8:30-1pm). They regularly host tastings days with a choice of falafel and salads, sourdoughs, soda and health loaves, traditional jams, cordials and curds, vegetables and herbs, cakes and flowers all grown and produced within a five-mile radius. The outdoor farmers market on Saturday mornings are from 10:00 to 14:00 and offers lots of local produce that include vegetables, salads, fish, meat as well as fresh pancakes and coffee. For over 100 years the Buttimer Family have supplied fresh fish to Bandon and Julie continues the tradition to this day. supplies the town with fresh fish at our aptly locally named ‘Fish Corner’ every Friday. . There are few towns on Ireland that can boast of such quality produce available. Artisan Food shops and Master Butchers ensure that we are spoiled for choice with abundance and quality on our doorstep. With quality produce abounding, there is no surprise at the growth of quality food houses surrounding the town – wherever you stop in Bandon you are assured of a good meal. There is a plethora of fine eateries to choose from you’ll be spoiled for choice.
