Join acclaimed harpist Brenda Malloy for a captivating recital on early Irish and Renaissance harps.
Echoes of Ireland & the Renaissance brings to life the haunting airs, lively dances, and richly expressive music of centuries past. Featuring historical harp music from Ireland, England, Scotland, and Wales, the programme includes works by Turlough O’Carolan, William Connelan, Cornelius Lyons, Edward Jones, John Bowie, Thomas Campion, John Dowland, and selections from Playford’s collections.
Let the gentle resonance of wire and gut strings transport you through time in this evocative and beautifully curated performance.

The harp is more than just a musical instrument in Ireland - it is a national symbol, a cultural treasure and a thread woven through the fabric of Irish identity for over a thousand years. This talk with Kristin Gleeson explores the deep historical roots of the harp in Irish society, from ancient bardic traditions to its presence on modern coinage and state emblems. We'll delve into its' evolution, its' role in resistance and revival and how it continues to inspire and unite across generations. Whether you are a musician, a history lover, or simply curious about Ireland's heritage, this journey into the soul of the harp will strike a chord.

Step into the charm of a summer afternoon at our Garden Riverside Tea Party behind Bandon Town Hall. Enjoy tea, cakes, and a live performance by the Bandon Concert Band in a relaxed garden setting with family and friends. Upper level seating is available for those with mobility needs. A lovely way to spend your Saturday while supporting a much-loved local band.
