Creative Bandon Events

Since 2016, Creative Bandon have enriched Bandon's emerging arts scene and fostered connections through events such as Bandon Brigid's festival, Poetry Town and Bandon Banshee festival. They run multiple events throughout the year like the Bandon Folk Club showcasing local original music and bringing renowned music acts to town. They champion local artists, ensuring fair pay and opportunities and prioritise intergenerational projects that bring together young and old.
This year, Creative Bandon is proud to collaborate with a range of local organisations as part of the Bandon Walled Town Festival. Their participation highlights the value of partnership and community spirit, reinforcing how groups working together can bring about more meaningful and inclusive cultural experiences. With a focus on collaboration and inclusion, they see creativity as a powerful tool for bringing people together, building community, and nurturing pride in local identity.
River Mural Launch

Our River Bandia (noun: the Goddess) is 360 million years old. Not bad for a river which sustains nearly 50, 000 humans, a host of biodiversity not to mention the best salmon in Ireland. For Heritage week, Creative Bandon launches this artwork by Carmen Quigley on Patricks Quay. We wish to acknowledge the many lovers of the Bandia - over the ages artists, photographers, ecologists, storytellers, farmers and anglers, all have loved her sweeping flow. This artwork was made possible with funding from Cork County Council, Bandon Environmental Action Group, LAWPRO, Heritage Council, Bandon Rivers Trust, and the Bandon Walled Town Committee and the invaluable help of Sean O'Donovan and Castle Rock Developments.

The event also features the launch of new murals celebrating our river heritage in the heart of town. A joyful and sensory celebration of water, nature, and community, supported by LAWPRO in honour of our shared water heritage.
